Position Summary

The Senior Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting operations of a small, collaborative finance team. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with month-end closing, and ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working in a hands-on environment.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare journal entries, including accruals and adjustments

Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes

Reconcile Balance Sheet accounts (bank, credit cards, prepaid expenses, accruals, etc.)

Own the update of actuals reporting and Amex/T&E reconciliations

Own the reconciliations for Shopify, Amazon, Sysco, Faire, TikTok

Support accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions as needed

Maintain and update fixed asset/prepaid schedules and record depreciation/amortization

Assist in preparing financial statements and internal reports

Ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data

Support audits by preparing schedules and documentation

Help improve/implement new accounting processes and internal controls

Assist the controller with other ad hoc reporting

Qualifications & Attributes

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

3–5 years of accounting experience, ideally within a small to mid-sized CPG based company

Strong understanding of basic accounting principles (GAAP knowledge preferred)

Strong proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP/Index/ Pivots/ Sumifs/etc.)

Experience with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, Business Central, or similar)

Exposure to full-cycle accounting processes

Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

Strong record of complex project management with multi-disciplinary teams

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate across teams

Ability to prioritize and effectively measure and drive for results in an entrepreneurial work environment
