Where You’ll Make a Difference
- Demonstrate cognitive flow between ingredient bases, schemas and reverse.
- Apply sound chemical knowledge to assess stability, interactions, and undesirable reactions.
- Create, replicate, and explain fragrance schemas with clarity and precision.
- Understand and apply maturation and maceration effects in fragrance development.
- Integrate regulatory constraints into fragrance creation.
- Learn and apply insights from the top 90 percentile of ingredients in the IFF curriculum.
- Adapt fragrances across different bases and categories and understand the technical challenges.
- Support QC and participate in evaluation protocols and consumer testing methodologies.
- Construct Fruity, Floral & Fine Fragrance schemas with technical and creative expertise.
What Makes You the Right Fit
- Strong foundation in chemistry, including functional groups and reaction mechanisms.
- Deep knowledge of raw materials and their performance implications.
- Awareness of ingredient cost and ability to optimize formulations accordingly.
- Understanding of natural ingredient constituents and extraction limitations.
- Ability to identify and recite classic fragrances and their evolution.
- Familiarity with leading market fragrances and key driving chemicals.
- Experience in laboratory work, compounding and fragrance applications.
- Knowledge of consumer fragrance marketing fundamentals and market segmentation.
- Proficiency in qualitative and quantitative consumer insights methodologies.

- Skillful in constructing consumer fragrance schemas with technical depth.
- Able to articulate the impact of material combinations and dosage on final fragrance.
