We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our manufacturing team in Rockland, Maine. The ideal candidate will be responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining equipment to ensure smooth production operations. This role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, safety-first mindset, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Role and Responsibilities
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment, machinery, and facility systems.
• Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
• Conduct preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
• Diagnose equipment malfunctions and determine necessary repairs or replacements.
• Read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Install, assemble, and test new equipment as needed.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance work and parts inventory.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
• Work collaboratively with production and engineering teams to minimize disruptions.
• Assist in facility maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, and lighting.
• Manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature variations.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or certification preferred.
• 2+ years of experience in industrial maintenance, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to diagnose and repair equipment failures efficiently.
• Experience with PLC troubleshooting is a plus.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and manuals.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety regulations and best practices.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends or overtime as needed.
• Basic computer skills for inventory tracking and data entry.
• Current and Valid Driver’s License
Preferred Skills
• Prior experience in a warehouse, logistics, or food manufacturing environment preferred.
• Understanding of food safety regulations (GMP, HACCP, SQF, etc.) is a plus.
