As an Application Scientist, you will play a key role in developing probiotic applications for consumer health care (supplements) and functional foods. Your creativity and scientific expertise will drive the development of innovative, high-quality products that truly resonate with consumers.
Your primary responsibilities will include
Formulate, implement, and troubleshoot solid dosage forms and functional food applications for biotics
Develop innovative products, both with and without additional nutrients, and support scale-up for manufacturing
Collaborate closely with Marketing & Sales teams and customers to support ideation, drive innovation, and provide application know-how
Work hand-in-hand with QA, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and manufacturing partners to ensure smooth development and handover of new products
Act as project lead for product development and application processes
Plan, execute, and evaluate formulation development activities to meet customer and internal stakeholder requirements
Conduct scale-up and production test runs in collaboration with manufacturers
Provide technical support to customers when needed
Present data and deliver scientific assessments to teams and stakeholders
Lead and manage research initiatives as well as cross-organizational projects
Through your work, you will help maintain our position as the market leader in probiotics for supplements and functional foods, while expanding our footprint in pre- and postbiotic solutions.
Education, experience and mindset
MSc level education in food technology, biotechnology, microbiology, chemistry, pharmaceutical technology, pharmacist or similar
At least 3 years of experience from product development and formulation of probiotics / supplements / food / pharmaceuticals or related field
A strong personal drive, self-motivation, energy, and passion for teamwork
A customer-focused and creative mindset, who enjoys working in an international, innovative and dynamic environment
Experience of laboratory work and work in controlled hygienic environment, for ex. clean room and/or food production
Experience of project work and preferably project management
Excellent communication skills in English, spoken as well as written
Experience from quality control, manufacture outsourcing in the supplement / pharma / food area is a plus
Interest in probiotics and healthy food
