Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Shift Leader to oversee daily operations in a dynamic food service environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive knowledge of food preparation and service, and a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role is vital in ensuring smooth shift transitions, maintaining high standards of food safety and quality, and supporting team development. The Shift Leader will play a key role in managing staff, controlling inventory, and upholding the restaurant’s operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily restaurant operations during assigned shifts, ensuring efficiency and adherence to company policies.
- Lead and motivate team members, providing training, coaching, and performance feedback to foster a positive work environment.
- Oversee food preparation processes, ensuring compliance with food safety standards and quality control measures.
- Manage POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS for order processing, cash handling, and sales reconciliation.
- Monitor inventory levels, assist with stock ordering, and control food and supply costs to optimize profitability.
- Ensure excellent customer service by addressing guest concerns promptly and professionally.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas in accordance with health regulations.
- Assist with staff scheduling, interviewing potential team members, and supporting hiring processes.
- Support kitchen management with food production, catering orders, banquet events, or bar service as needed.
- Uphold safety standards across all operational areas and respond swiftly to any safety concerns or emergencies.
Requirements
- Proven experience in food service management or supervisory roles within quick service or fine dining environments.
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, kitchen management, and food safety protocols.
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS; cash handling experience required.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with previous supervising or team management experience.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle challenging situations professionally.
- Ability to train staff effectively in food handling, safety procedures, and service standards.
- Experience in restaurant management, including inventory control, budgeting, and staff development preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Hospitality management background or hotel/banquet experience is a plus.
