Fermata is a data science company developing computer vision solutions for both controlled environment agriculture and outdoor. Fermata builds AI-powered decision support systems for precise plant monitoring in greenhouses & indoor farms utilizing computer vision analysis.
Position Overview
Fermata is looking for a local Customer Support Specialist to help us look after our growing list of clients in the BC vegetable sector. We’ve built an AI system for pest and disease detection, and we need someone local to ensure our customers are successful with it.
This is a low-hour, high-impact role. It’s perfect for someone already working in the industry who wants to spend a few hours a week helping growers integrate AI into their daily routines.
What You’ll Help With
Local Support:
Be the local face of Fermata for growers in the Surrey area.
On-Site Check-ins:
Visit greenhouses to help teams get comfortable with the technology.
Product Adoption:
Assist growers in using our AI findings to improve their scouting and IPM results.
Troubleshooting:
Help bridge the gap between the grower's needs and our technical platform.
What We’re Looking For
Greenhouse Experience:
You’re familiar with tomatoes, peppers, or cucumbers.
IPM Knowledge:
You know your way around scouting and pest management.
Reliability:
You are based in BC and can drop into sites near Surrey for a few hours a week.
People Person:
You enjoy helping others and can explain simple tech to a busy grower.
