If you are passionate about microorganisms, coding, workflow development, and data generation, we encourage you to apply for this unique opportunity.
International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF) is a market leader in the industrial biotechnology sector developing innovative products to advance sustainable solutions for the bio-based economy. The regulatory function facilitates market access of enzyme and viable microorganism products, of which product safety assessments play an integral part. In this position you will be the bridge between bioinformatics in R&D and strain safety assessment in regulatory affairs in support of strain risk assessment needed for manufacturing and regulatory approval dossiers for our Health & Biosciences division.
The scope of this position includes generating bioinformatic data essential for safety and regulatory documentation on IFF’s microorganisms by developing, building and maintaining necessary pipelines, workflows and software to accomplish this. Your main interactions will be with R&D and regulatory affairs. As IFF is a global company, stake holder relationships span multiple languages, cultures and time zones.
You will be part of the team that is responsible for writing and organizing regulatory strain safety documentation. The data on which the assessment is based comes from IFF R&D. With the increase in regulatory requirements based on whole genome sequence information, the need for custom pipelines addressing regulatory queries is fast becoming an essential piece of strain risk assessment. The position requires strong coding and communication skills, interpreting regulatory questions and building appropriate solutions.
We are currently seeking a talented professional to join the strain risk assessment team. This position will report into the Global Regulatory Microorganism Lead, who in turn reports into the Head of Product Safety and Chemical Management in Global Regulatory Affairs.
