The Production Team is a matrix organization within Beyond Meat that is dedicated to creating food products that are leading the gold standard in plant-based proteins. They are looking for an outstanding individual to join the team located in DEPA location as a Production Operator II.
As a Production Operator II, you will play a key supporting role in the production and packaging process of delicious Beyond Meat products. You will handle and monitor product and equipment, ensure that everything is running smoothly, and be a safe, productive, and valued team member.
Tasks, Duties, & General Responsibilities
Under Supervisor guidance, perform daily production activities and operate equipment while maintaining a safe, high-quality, high-volume manufacturing environment
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area, including sweeping, gathering trash, and other janitorial duties as assigned
Prepare machinery and tools for sanitation, and/or assist with breakdown and cleaning of machinery
Operate trucks and other industrial vehicles to transfer product from warehouse to production to freezer (per business need)
Ensure equipment is maintained in clean, good, and safe working condition and recommend improvements to ensure safety, quality, and production capacity
Assist in assembling and verifying all machinery is set up and ready for production daily and set to spec for operations
Prepare workstations, gather required tools, and retrieve daily batch sheets from Lead/Supervisors
Follow all Food Safety policies in ensuring safety and quality of product
Know how to verify ingredients are within spec of customer and government regulation
Help junior Production Operators in their assigned responsibilities
Recommend and support development and process improvements to enhance operational safety and efficiency
Identify and report unsafe operations to Supervisor or leader immediately

Gather and verify ingredients for daily production needs
Stage all ingredients on pallets and prepare required ingredients weights for each batch
Verify correct ingredients and weights match batch sheet provided by leadership
Verify ingredient pick list for follow day’s production with warehouse team members
Ability to write and verify label information on pallet sheets and verify pallet count
Record and verify weights of ingredients, both raw and finished goods
Complete paperwork and submit to Production leadership and/or Quality
Adhere to all facility policies concerning safety, security, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
Performs other duties, as assigned, and follows through on requests in a timely manner
ADVANCEMENT OPPORTUNITY
The Production Operator position is divided into three levels based on knowledge, skills, and abilities. All Production Operators have the opportunity to advance to each level through a training and assessment process. The Production Operator II must prove sustained proficiency in their assigned function and perform that function at least 85% of the time to receive the pay rate associated with the level. The higher the level, the higher the pay.

Qualifications
Education, Technical Skills, and/or Previous Experience:
High school diploma or GED
Manufacturing experience, especially food manufacturing experience, is preferred
Problem solving skills and attention to detail
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Ability to comprehend and follow instructions
Ability to understand and follow safety rules and Good Manufacturing Practices
Teamwork and a positive attitude are essential to maintain a culture of cooperation and respect
Must be able to work individually in a team environment

Mandatory overtime is required on occasion, which can include some weekends and/or holidays
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Warehouse and production manufacturing environment that includes both tempered and ambient areas.

Position requires the ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods, step, balance, crouch, stoop, kneel, squat, bend, must be able to lift minimal 50 lbs. consistently, reach above shoulders, or as needed to complete tasks.
Must be able to occasionally climb stairs or a ladder to complete tasks.
Position located in a mix of production and office environments and requires a tolerance for consistent cold work environments (-10-40˚ F), high worker traffic, loud noises, odors, dust, and varying room temperatures.
This position will be required to visit the production floor, refrigerated and frozen storage, and warehouses.
Work flexible shifts as required.
Understand that overtime and occasional weekends and/or worked holidays will be required based on company needs.
**Hourly rate commensurate with experience**
The starting hourly base pay for this role is USD $21.00 per hour. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for bonus and benefits.
