Role Description The Proizvodnji tehnolog (Production Technologist) is a full-time, on-site role based in Ljubljana. In this position, you will oversee and optimize plant-based meat production processes, ensuring product quality, consistency, and efficiency. You will monitor production lines, adjust process parameters, and collaborate with R&D and engineering teams to implement technological improvements. Daily responsibilities include documenting process data, troubleshooting technical issues, supporting scale-up from pilot to industrial production, and ensuring compliance with food safety and quality standards. You will also participate in equipment setup, staff training on processing procedures, and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve yield, and maintain a safe working environment.
Qualifications
Background in food technology, biotechnology, chemical engineering, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree or higher preferred).
Experience with food or beverage production processes, preferably in plant-based, protein, or similar processing environments.
Strong understanding of process control, scale-up, and optimization in a production setting.
Knowledge of food safety, HACCP, quality control procedures, and relevant industry standards.
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, process flow diagrams, and equipment manuals.
Hands-on approach to problem-solving with the ability to diagnose and resolve process or equipment issues on the production floor.
Comfort working with cross-functional teams, including production operators, R&D, quality, and engineering.
Organized and detail-oriented, with strong documentation and data-recording skills.
Willingness to work on-site in Ljubljana and spend significant time in a production environment.
Proficiency in Slovenian and working knowledge of English (written and spoken) is highly beneficial.
Enthusiasm for sustainable food systems and interest in plant-based innovation.
