As a fast-paced company, we are expanding into several other product categories, delivering products that promote health and well-being, while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and quality.
We are looking for a Quality Assurance Specialist with 2-3 years of QA experience who is ready to take ownership and make a meaningful impact within the company. A key focus of this role is managing our third-party certification programs, including Organic (USDA NOP), Kosher, Regenerative Organic, Fairtrade, and Non-GMO Project Verified along with document control. This is a fully remote role open to candidates anywhere in the U.S. (our headquarters are in Boulder, CO), supporting our extensive portfolio, with occasional travel to contract manufacturing locations to assist with quality activities as needed. Our products are manufactured through an external contract manufacturing model, making strong supplier relationships, certification management, and remote Food Safety and Quality oversight central to how we operate.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead document control processes: maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures, specifications, forms, and QA records to ensure accuracy, version control, and regulatory compliance
Manage and maintain third-party certification programs, including Organic, Kosher, Non-GMO Project Verified, Fairtrade, and other applicable certifications, including audits, certificate management and upkeeping, ingredient compliance review, and communication with certifying agencies
Travel to contract manufacturers on an as-needed basis to support audits and quality activities
Support the supplier quality program, including new supplier/ingredient approvals, re-evaluations, and ongoing verification activities
Support continuous improvement initiatives
Various other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
BS degree in a related field (food science, microbiology, chemistry, or similar)
2-3 years of experience in food safety, quality assurance, food manufacturing, or document control
Experience with third-party certifications (Organic, Kosher, Non-GMO Project Verified, etc.) strongly preferred
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Understanding of food safety principles (HACCP/HARPC, cGMPs) and food processing fundamentals
Commitment to quality standards and ability to identify and address areas of concern
WORKING CONDITIONS
· Working conditions are in an office, manufacturing environment or warehouse
· Occasional domestic travel to out-of-state contract manufacturing locations to support audits and other quality needs (not a routine requirement)
· The role may require participation in sensory evaluations, which may include tasting a variety of food and beverage products that may contain common allergens as part of quality assessment.
COMPENSATION
· Starting salary of $65-75k, commensurate with experience
· Full benefits package including health, dental, vision, and 401(k)
