About The Role
As a Food Safety Lead, you will take ownership of food safety systems and microbiology programs at our manufacturing site in San Sisto. You will play a key role in ensuring the highest standards of food safety, compliance, and product quality in a complex production environment. Acting as a subject matter expert, you will partner closely with production, quality and management teams to identify risks, drive root cause analysis, and implement effective corrective actions. You will also contribute to strengthening the food safety culture on site, ensuring global standards and customer requirements are consistently met.
Main Responsibilities
Develop and maintain food safety procedures for the plant based on global standards.
Ensure compliance with HACCP and other food safety regulations in daily operations.
Conduct regular audits and inspections of production, storage and hygiene practices.
Train employees on food safety, GMP, hygiene and pest control standards.
Monitor food safety results (e.g. EMP, sanitation) and take action when needed.
Maintain and update HACCP plans, CCP/OPRP documentation and related records.
Investigate food safety incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
Work closely with Production and Quality teams to identify and reduce risks.
Manage pest control activities and cooperate with external vendors.
Ensure proper validation of CCPs, OPRPs and allergen controls (where applicable).
About You
Degree in Food Science, Microbiology or a related field (or equivalent experience).
At least 3-6 years of experience in food safety within manufacturing (FMCG/food industry).
Fluent in English.
Strong expertise in food safety systems, including HACCP, EMP and FSSC requirements, with a solid understanding of sanitation, GMP and regulatory standards.
Experience working in a production/plant environment.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple priorities, stay proactive and perform effectively under pressure.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify risks and drive solutions.
Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence stakeholders.
Confident communicator with strong training and coaching skills.

Contract type: Permanent, full-time
Salary range: €45,000 - €50,000 annually
Business travel: Approximately 10-20% across Europe
