OverviewThe R&D Product Development Senior Technician is responsible for supporting the efficient operation of the Product Development laboratory, including laboratory administration, ingredient and inventory management, procurement coordination, and equipment maintenance. This role serves as a key support function for the R&D team by ensuring the availability of materials, reliable laboratory operations, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
In addition, the role provides technical support for product development projects through sample preparation, stability testing, data collection, and documentation, contributing to the successful development and optimization of beverage products.
ResponsibilitiesLaboratory Operations & Management
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the R&D laboratory to ensure a safe, organized, and efficient working environment.
- Maintain laboratory records, inventories, and documentation in compliance with company quality and safety requirements.
- Oversee the storage, tracking, and replenishment of raw materials, chemicals, consumables, and samples.
Procurement & Supplier Coordination
- Coordinate the procurement of ingredients, laboratory supplies, and equipment, including raising purchase requests and tracking orders.
- Connect with suppliers to obtain samples, quotations, technical information, and delivery updates.
Equipment Management & Maintenance
- Manage laboratory equipment calibration, qualification, preventive maintenance, and repair activities.
- Coordinate with external service providers to ensure timely maintenance and optimal equipment performance.
- Maintain equipment records and monitor equipment status to support laboratory operations.
Product Development & Testing Support
- Support beverage product development projects by preparing samples and conducting laboratory evaluations.
- Perform product stability testing and monitoring, including physical, chemical, and sensory assessments.
- Accurately record, compile, and summarize experimental results and testing data.
- Assist R&D scientists in executing product development activities and technical evaluations
- Coordinate and communicate with cross-functional teams, including Product Development, Packaging, Process, Quality & Food Safety, Marketing, Procurement, and external suppliers.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to laboratory safety procedures, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain accurate testing records and documentation in accordance with quality management systems.
- Support internal audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications- Batchlor’s Degree or above in Food Science, Food Engineering, Chemistry, Biology, Nutrition, or related disciplines.
- 1-3 years of experience in laboratory operations, R&D technical support, or related fields.
- Experience in inventory management, procurement processes, and supplier coordination.
- Familiarity with food or beverage laboratory practices, stability testing, and analytical equipment is preferred.
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Language: Fluent in Mandarin Chinese and English
