Position Overview: The Maintenance Fabricator II is responsible for cutting, grinding, welding, and assembling structures. This position will operate specialized machinery for industrial welding and treat and repair metal surfaces to ensure safe usage.
Key Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
Performs various fabrication techniques such as saw, sand, polish, glue, seam, and cut.
Treats and repairs metal surfaces to ensure safe usage.
Inspects and tests welds and equipment for durability and determines if repairs or new equipment are needed.
Reads, interprets, and assists in drafting blueprints and technical plans to develop and design welding projects.
Assesses equipment, structures, materials, and job specifications for appropriate welding positions and methods.
Operates specialized machinery for industrial welding with minimal supervision and assistance.
Assists in training new maintenance fabricators.
Welds and brazes most materials, specifically aluminum.
Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly and performs basic preventative maintenance functions.
Moves and assembles equipment for production lines.
Complies with all company policies and procedures and operates all equipment in a safe and food-safe manner.
Complies with Bob’s Red Mill food safety policies and procedures including adherence to FDA regulations and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Responsible for reporting food safety and quality concerns to Supervisors and/or Department Manager.
Performs other tasks and duties as may be assigned.

This position reports to the Engineering and Fabrication Manager.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Understands fundamental design techniques, tools, and principles involved in mechanical production settings.
Ability to read, interpret, and draft technical plans, blueprints, diagrams, and drawings.
Ability to weld metals and fabricate small parts.
Ability to perform basic mathematical functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Possesses effective communication skills both written and orally.
Proficiency with basic hand tools for machine set up and operation.
Ability to work well individually and as a member of a team.
Ability to work independently, follow a sequence of operations with little direction, and self-monitor quality and productivity requirements.
Ability to read, understand, and communicate operational and safety information in English.

Ability to work in an environment where exposure to potential food allergens is or may be present.
Education and Experience:
3 or more years of experience as a fabricator or welder, AND
High school diploma or equivalent; OR
Any combination of education and additional years of experience that provides the necessary skills, knowledge, and ability to perform assigned tasks.
Physical Demands:
Frequently requires the ability to lift and stack products weighing up to 50 pounds.
Position may require standing for long periods of time, as well as stooping, squatting, bending, and kneeling.
Position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Work Environment:
Use of personal protective equipment such as welding helmets, safety shoes, safety glasses, and gloves are mandatory.
This position will perform work within all areas of the facility and may be exposed to dust, dirt, grease and extremes and difference in temperature.
