We are now looking for a full-time fixed term Quality and Food Safety Coordinator
to our production site in Vantaa. As our Quality and Food Safety Coordinator, you will help ensure that food safety and quality requirements are met in our operations at FSSC 22000 certified Factory 01 in Vantaa. Your key responsibilities include monitoring food safety control measures, monitoring points and verification procedures in production according to HACCP, as well as ensuring that product quality specifications are met. The final scope of the role will be shaped based on the selected person’s experience, giving the opportunity to take on responsibilities that match and develop your expertise. This role is in a key position to drive continuous improvement in our quality and food safety management systems.
Key responsibilities are · Monitor and improve operational practices including e.g. nonconformity management, traceability, self-monitoring audits and supply chain control. · Keep the Food Safety management system documents updated and ensure compliance with relevant standards. · Participate in Food Safety team meetings and depending on previous experience might be able to lead meetings. · Ensure that product quality fulfills defined production parameters. · Organize hygiene and product safety training sessions. · Maintain and enhance the food safety culture, including internal communication (both in writing and verbally) · Coordinate audits and official inspections (e.g. FSSC, Halal, Kosher, Oiva). · Provide quality support to production and product development as needed. · Cooperation with external service providers (e.g. cleaning, workwear, pest management, waste management) and develop these practices.
You will be part of our Quality and Food Safety team, working in close cooperation with the Factory 01 production team. The production team consists of 17 professionals in roles such as process operations, automation and maintenance specialists. As quality and food safety are important for all of us, Solar Foodists, you will collaborate broadly with people throughout our company, for example when organizing training. You will report to Noora Toivonen, Head of Quality and Food Safety.
What will make you succeed in this role?We are looking for a proactive and self-initiated person who has: · Proven experience (at least 2 years) in quality and food safety in food industry. · Experience with quality and food safety management systems (e.g. ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, BRC, IFS). · Knowledge of food regulations (e.g. Finnish/EU/US legislation, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000). · Bachelor or Master level degree in food technology, biotechnology, engineering, or similar. · Strong communication and interpersonal skills and courage to train people. · Fluent in English and Finnish, verbally and in writing. · Team-player with a dedication to quality and a willingness to learn. · Brings positive energy and believes in Solar Foods’ mission and values.
