As an Innovation Project Intern (m/f/d), you will directly report to our Innovation Project Manager. You will join our Operations Innovation Team in Vernier (Geneva) for an internship of 6-9 months.
During this paid internship, you will contribute to innovation projects focused on modular automation, AI and data analytics, intra-logistics, robotics, and latest manufacturing technologies. You will combine technical project work with project coordination. You will support activities ranging from early technology assessment and prototype testing to data analysis, supplier coordination, project documentation, and presentations management.
This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on exposure to industrial innovation projects while supporting the development of scalable manufacturing solutions.
In this exciting role you will:
Support innovation projects from early concept evaluation through experimentation, pilot implementation and validation;
Conduct technology, market and supplier research related to automation, robotics, AI, data analytics, intra-logistics and new manufacturing technologies;
Help prepare user requirements, functional requirements and solution specifications;
Contribute to high-level system architecture and integration discussions;
Support the planning and execution of prototype testing, experiments and pilot activities;
Develop and execute test protocols to evaluate solution performance, reliability, efficiency and technical feasibility;
Work hands-on with prototypes, automation equipment, robots, sensors and experimental setups
Collect, structure, clean and analyze technical and operational data;
Identify and document technical risks, improvement opportunities and lessons learned during testing and pilot activities;
Support supplier coordination, technical discussions, action resolution of open points;
Present technical findings, project updates and recommendations to project managers and other partners
Support project planning, action tracking, meeting preparation and follow-up activities.
You?
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, Automation, Mechatronics, Computer Science or a related field;
Interest in manufacturing, automation, robotics, AI and digital technologies
Good analytical skills;
Comfortable working hands-on with prototypes, automation equipment and experimental setups;
Working knowledge of programming and data analysis tools such as Python, SQL, Power BI, R or similar;
Fluent in English; French knowledge is beneficial.
