About Applied Food Sciences (AFS)Applied Food Sciences is an international B2B leader supplying premium, plant-based functional ingredients for the food, beverage, and nutritional supplement industries. We specialize in organic, sustainable, and science-backed solutions, such as natural caffeine, functional mushrooms, and botanical extracts that enable global brands to innovate cleanly.
The OpportunityWe are seeking a disciplined, detail-oriented Junior Graphic Designer to join our lean marketing team. Reporting directly to the Art Director, your core mission is to bring established brand concepts to life across high-volume digital and print assets.
This role is ideal for a designer with strong print and layout fundamentals who thrives on precision, file organization, and extending design systems into multi-format campaigns, including web banners, magazine ads, email templates, sales sheets, and short-form video content.
Key Responsibilities
Design Production & Collateral: Extend master campaign designs and brand guidelines into production-ready assets, including ingredient sales sheets, product brochures, trade show graphics, and print magazine ads.
Digital Display & Banner Campaigns: Build out digital ad suites and web banner variations focused on brand authority and impression share.
Email Template Design: Design clean, responsive email layouts aligned with brand standards (willingness to work with or learn basic HTML structure under the Art Director's guidance is a plus).
Video Content & Motion Assets: Perform light-to-intermediate video editing in Premiere Pro, stitching media clips, updating outdated logos/branding, and creating short video assets for digital retargeting campaigns.
File Hygiene & Asset Management: Maintain organized Google Drive file structures. Ensure all working files (Illustrator, Photoshop, PowerPoint) are cleanly layered, non-destructive, and packaged properly.
Our Design Philosophy & AI Policy
Craft & Fundamentals First: We believe great B2B design is built with full control over typography, vector paths, and layout grids. All deliverables must be editable, structured working files built in standard design programs. Therefore, we do not accept fully generated AI graphic layouts, but will allow for the use of AI to assist in some elements of graphic design.
Why You’ll Love Working Here
Direct Mentorship: You won't be left on an island. You’ll work 1-on-1 with an experienced Art Director who genuinely cares about layout craft, typography, and helping you sharpen your skills.
No Agency Burnout: We value work-life balance. Enjoy predictable hours, flexible hybrid options, and a supportive, non-chaotic environment.
Real Impact: Your designs won't sit in a presentation deck, they’ll be seen across major trade publications, email campaigns, and global food & beverage brand launches.
A Tight-Knit Team: Join a focused, friendly lean marketing group that values clear communication, good humor, and mutual support.
Qualifications & Tool Requirements
Software: Fluent in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, and PowerPoint.
Tools & Collaboration: Experience with Google Drive for file organization and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Gmail) for internal communication.
Design Background: Portfolio demonstrating mastery of print layout, spatial hierarchy, typography, and vector construction.
