Quorn Foods are delighted to be recruiting for a Procurement Manager to join our Direct Procurement team on a fixed term contract basis.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Reporting to the Strategic Procurement Lead for Directs UK and Europe, you will develop and deliver category and sourcing strategies that balance cost, quality, service, sustainability and supply resilience. You will identify opportunities to deliver savings, mitigate inflation, avoid costs and optimise working capital through cost modelling, benchmarking, volume consolidation and effective commercial planning.
You will lead supplier negotiations, tenders, contracts and service-level agreements, ensuring that total cost and commercial risks are understood and managed. Working closely with Technical, NPD, Materials Planning, Operations, Finance and Master Data, you will support new product launches, agree supply routes and pricing, maintain accurate commercial records in SAP and help resolve data or invoicing issues.
Alongside your category responsibilities, you will contribute to wider Direct Procurement priorities and help ensure raw materials remain available to meet business needs.
The role will be predominately based from our Leeds office (LS15), with regular travel to other Quorn sites, suppliers and third-party manufacturers.
The position is offered on an initial fixed term contract basis. Applicants must have the Right to Work permanently in the UK. We are unable to offer sponsorship for this position.
What Experience You'll Need To Have
Proven commercial background within food manufacturing, FMCG or another manufacturing environment, with experience developing and executing category and sourcing strategies
Experience managing packaging, ingredients, direct materials or other specified categories
Track record of delivering savings, cost improvements, service performance, quality outcomes and supplier value creation
Excellent negotiation and contract-management capability, with experience managing strategic relationships and major commercial agreements
Well-developed financial, commercial and analytical skills, with the ability to use data and market intelligence to inform decisions
Excellent stakeholder management, communication and cross-functional leadership skills, ideally alongside experience of procurement transformation, digitalisation, governance frameworks, process improvement or mentoring
A passion for healthy, sustainable products which are better for our consumers and the planet – you don’t have to be a vegetarian to work for Quorn!
