Description:
The Palo Alto Research & Development Site is looking for a dynamic individual to serve as Safety, Process, and Equipment, engineer.
This engineer will collaborate across projects and functions (EHS, Operations, Facilities, Research and Development teams) and will provide tactical hands-on equipment and process expertise.
This engineer will support Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs, audits, investigations, and corrective actions and will provide hands-on hazard analysis and risk management for laboratory and pilot scale biological production processes and equipment.
This engineer will manage the local process safety management program and develop strategies for employee communication, training, and engagement and track critical action item to completion.
This engineer is expected to have sound engineering knowledge, the ability to identify innovative solutions from both internal and external sources, and must work with teams and individually to design, modify, specify and implement safe engineering equipment and operational improvements.
Minimum Requirements:
- BS engineering degree (preferred Mechanical or Chemical) with relevant work experience
- 2-5 years hands-on, manufacturing experience with experience in Process Safety
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Team player and self-starter and finisher with good organizational, project management skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead, influence and inspire others across functions (ideally in an R&D setting)
The salary range for this position is $110,000–$125,000, based on skills, experience, and overall qualifications.
