As the Team Leader you are a senior member of a crew or team and working in an Advanced Operator position. The Team Leader participates in group communications, labor coordination, meeting management, conflict resolution, performance evaluations and training coordination for their team. Team Leaders consistently set the example in regard to Core Values and following procedural requirements.
The Advanced Process Operator reports to the 1195 Line Manager and is responsible for operating all process equipment in Building 1195 by using the distributed process control system, performing manual tasks, or through the collaborative effort of other members of the crew. This includes start-ups, shutdowns, adjustments, and constant monitoring of the process.
Team Leader Key Elements:
- Act as the focal point for communications between teams. This responsibility includes leadership during shift change meetings, placing outside phone calls for maintenance assistance or overtime coverage due to illness.
- Directs crew members and delegates work to be completed to meet the daily production plan. Monitor and maintain KPI targets.
- Coordinate tasks during 5th crew operations. This responsibility effects 5th crew tasks Monday - Friday of 5th crew week. Tasks typically include GMP, Safety, project work, job training, visitor tours and production support. Comprehend and comply with all quality, environmental, and safety policies. Suggest improvement to current conditions and communicate concerns regarding risks and hazards.
- Performance Evaluations. In addition to feedback generated goal setting and open dialogs, Team Leader feedback is relied upon to help provide an accurate assessment of employee performance.
- Team Leader Meetings. Team Leader feedback is utilized to gain overall perspectives on departmental issues, projects and goals. Candid observations and opinions add value to decision making and group communication. The Team Leaders select goals to work on as a group from these meetings.
- Conflict Resolution. Team Leaders are involved in initial attempts at resolving potential conflict situations on their respective teams. This can be a successful means of handling minor issues before they have a chance to escalate.
- Training. Team Leaders reinforce and in some cases initiate training objectives during normal shift routines. Much of our OJT work is done on off shifts and requires some reinforcement for qualification to occur.
- Leadership Activities. eam Leaders are responsible and accountable for daily team activities and results as well as coordinating any special requests or periodic (Monthly, Annual) inventory needs.
- Emergency Response Activities. Responsibility to account for personnel, respond to situations, and communicate with all appropriate parties is required of Team Leaders.
- Maintain Code of Conduct, Core Values and adherence to Procedures.
- Facilitate the implementation of TRACC Best Practices and Continuous Improvement projects.
Advanced Process Operator Key Elements:
- Adjust feed ratios, set points, and other process variables as required.
- Startup, shutdown, & cleanup, feed systems, reactors, mixers, mills, convey systems, resin columns and other equipment.
- Assemble and disassemble mechanical components of process equipment.
- Operate the distributed process control system. Instruct the less experienced crewmembers, in the proper use of the control system.
- Communicate maintenance and automation needs to departmental staff and engineering team members.
- Monitor operations in other manufacturing buildings when the operator there must be away from the console.
- Respond to various alarms and notifications initiated by the Plant Fire Alarm System by calling for assistance or personally checking alarm or trouble conditions.
- Initiate problem solving, proactively observe and correct potential problems, and suggest changes or improvements to departmental operations.
- Comprehend and comply with all quality, environmental, and safety management system requirements.
- Sample and document the process stream at various intervals and locations to monitor product quality. Record the appropriate information as directed.
- Perform minor mechanical tasks ensuring that equipment is in good operating condition.
- Operate within GMP guidelines at all times, paying particular attention to area housekeeping.
- Perform all necessary functions of the Skilled Operator position.
- Provide on-the-job training and mentoring to other process operators.
- Assist in the completion of other departmental tasks as required.
- Must have a working telephone with voicemail so you can be contacted about schedule changes.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 12 months in a Skilled or Advanced Process Operator position is required.
- The ability to coordinate production demands with departmental projects, trials and other activities is essential.
- Must be capable of completing work while wearing a respirator.
- Completed 1195 Intermediate Process Operator Training.
- Completion or significant progress of 1195 Advanced Process Operator training is desired.
