Job Purpose
Manage daily administrative tasks associated with the transportation of inbound materials and the shipping of outbound orders. This involves coordinating with Warehouse Operations and Customer Care to minimize transportation costs while ensuring a high level of service that meets operational needs and customer satisfaction.
You Will:
- Perform a range of administrative activities to facilitate the timely and accurate shipment of materials, equipment, products, packages, and documents.\
- Coordinate the incoming and outgoing transport within an assigned area.
- Coordinate transport complaints and implement corrective solutions within due time.
- Prepare and maintain shipping records; prepare bills of lading; compute duties, tariffs, price conversions, weights, and volumes.
- Monitor and track the delivery of materials/products to inbound/outbound or customer warehouse(s) as per the agreed/committed date. Provides special follow-up on shipments of critical materials.
- Optimise and/or introduce flows related to transport and distribution.
- Communicate with external organisations (for example, customs authorities or shipping agents) to verify customs requirements and negotiate shipping costs and times.
- Perform other general administrative tasks as required.
Academic Background:
Vocational diploma in logistics.
Professional Experience:
Overall work experience of 1 to 2 years in logistics in a manufacturing environment (4 to 5 years if a high school diploma)
Technical Skills
- Good understanding of shipping and receiving regulations and protocol.
- Good knowledge of local and international material/product safety/security norms and regulations.
- Knowledge of supply chain dependencies and processes.
- Basic knowledge of production process flow and scheduling.
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel).
- SAP Knowledge (Preferred)
Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $58,000 to $70,000 annually. Actual compensation will depend on individual qualifications. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a high-matching 401(k) retirement plan.
