Your mission
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Lab Automation Technician to join our dynamic team. As a forward-thinking biotechnology company, we are committed to reshaping the future of sustainable production through scientific excellence, innovation, and operational precision. The Lab Automation Technician will play a pivotal role in supporting our bioprocess development efforts by executing, improving, and automating high-throughput experimental pipelines in our biotechnology laboratory. In this role, you will ensure smooth lab operations, conduct high-quality experiments, and contribute to the advancement of our microbial fermentation workflows.
Your Mission
Assist in the development, optimization, implementation, and maintenance of automated workflows in our biotech lab
Conduct aseptic techniques, prepare culture media, buffers, and solutions
Perform submerged fermentation experiments at microscale (microtiter plates)
Analyze fermentation products for composition and biological activity
Contribute to the maintenance and organization of the cell bank
Take ownership of project tasks, ensuring high-quality results and adherence to timelines
Collaborate closely within a diverse, multinational team
Your profile
Preferred degree: BTA (Biological Technical Assistant) or related field
Proven experience working under aseptic conditions in a biotech lab, and solid laboratory skills in preparing culture media, solutions, and reagents
Possessing technical skills and a strong willingness to learn and develop automated methods, including robotic liquid handling, analysis of on-line fermentation data and of plate readers output.
Prior experience with programming, preferably with Python or R for data science, or with C/C++.
Team-oriented mindset paired with initiative, reliability, and a practical, hands-on approach
High motivation to explore new techniques and push the boundaries of what can be achieved through automation and data-driven experimentation in the lab
Excellent communication skills in English (spoken and written); German is a plus
