The Coordinator Outreach and Advocacy will lead and coordinate the work of the Secretariat team involved in relevant activities, from communication and membership engagement to advocacy support and public affairs strategy implementation, involving relevant technical expertise of other team members.
In his/her function of Manager Public Affairs, he/she will work closely with the Euroseeds Membership and under the guidance of the Secretary General to whom he/she will be reporting. The Manager will mainly focus on the development and implementation of the association’s outreach and advocacy work and its overarching public affairs strategy towards EU decision makers.
He/she will act as key interlocutor towards all relevant EU institutions, specifically the European Parliament, the EU Commission, and Member States’ representatives. The Manager will be a leading spokesperson for the EU seed sector and help assure multiplication of European activities also at national level as required.
The position is based at the association’s office in Brussels, Belgium, but requires regular travel, mainly in Europe.

Specific tasks
Coordinate and lead the Euroseeds Outreach and Advocacy team
Apply public affairs, campaigning and EU policy expertise to strategic and annual planning
Lead responsibility for identification of key public affairs priorities and respective
campaign plans and tools
Manage implementation of overarching and specific lobbying activities in Euroseeds’ strategic policy priority areas (Research and Innovation; EU Market Access; International Markets and Trade; etc.)
Assure strong relationships and interaction with colleagues in national seed associations and company offices and liaise closely with them on relevant issues
Develop and maximise useful links with key opinion formers and relevant decision-makers; regularly meet politicians, advisers and administrators on Euroseeds’ priority issues
Attend external meetings and conferences, representing the association and advocating its positionsQualifications
Very strong expertise and experience (minimum 7-10 years) in EU public / government affairs
Excellent understanding of the EU’s structures and decision making processes; proven experience in European Parliament relations
Highly interested and aware of wider political context
Solid knowledge of current agricultural and environmental policy issues and developments; knowledge of the EU’s seed regulatory framework an asset
Understanding of corporate disciplines, including confidentiality and acting within limits of authority
Able to communicate with authority to experts as well as to explain technical and seed policy issues to laymen
Very strong written and spoken EN (working language)
