Where You’ll Make a Difference
- Develop and lead the EMEA Energy category strategy across electricity, steam, natural gas and industrial gases.
- Optimize industrial gas supply modes by analyzing plant consumption, required purity/pressure/flow and partnering with Engineering and Operations on the optimal sourcing approach.
- Negotiate energy supply contracts, including long‑term agreements, flexibility options and renewable energy solutions.
- Evaluate and coordinate energy hedging strategies (e.g., fixed, indexed, structured) in close collaboration with Finance and Operations.
- Identify and deliver annual value creation across total cost, cost avoidance and cash‑flow improvements.
- Drive specification optimization, standardization and demand management with Engineering and Operations.
- Lead competitive sourcing events, complex negotiations and supplier selection activities.
- Manage strategic suppliers (utilities, brokers, industrial gas providers), including performance reviews, risk mitigation and continuous improvement.
- Oversee procurement execution for sustainability‑focused CAPEX projects (e.g., solar PV, heat recovery, electrification, renewable steam solutions).
What Makes You the Right Fit
- 8–12+ years of procurement or strategic sourcing experience, including direct experience with electricity, natural gas, steam and/or industrial gases.
- Strong experience negotiating energy contracts and understanding market indices, regulations and risk‑management frameworks.
- Proven experience partnering with Finance on hedging strategies and market risk mitigation.
- Demonstrated success in strategy development, supplier management and value delivery.
- Experience collaborating with Operations in manufacturing environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or related field (required).
- Strong analytical thinking, influencing abilities and communication skills.
- Ability to work comfortably in complex and multicultural environments.
How You Would Stand Out
- Master’s degree and/or procurement certifications (CIPS, CPSM, etc.).
- Experience in clean‑energy infrastructure procurement.
- Proactive, resilient and comfortable managing volatility and ambiguity.
