About the Role
Deco Labs is seeking a high-energy, detail-oriented Technical Operations Associate. This is a unique role that sits at the intersection of laboratory execution and customer success. You will be responsible for executing pilot-scale production, performing critical QC assays, and managing the logistics of getting Deco's products into the hands of global partners.
Key Responsibilities:
Biomanufacturing & QC: Support pilot-scale production runs of Deco’s novel plant-derived feedstock ingredients, perform cell culture and analytical tests for Quality Control (QC), and maintain meticulous records.
Fulfillment & Logistics: Manage the end-to-end shipping process, ensuring cold-chain integrity and timely delivery to global partners.
Technical Customer Success: Act as a warm, professional point of contact for customers regarding orders, deliveries, and technical support; building long-term relationships is key.
R&D Flex Support: Provide hands-on support for the R&D team during critical scale-up phases and new product development.
Must-Haves:
Education: BS in Biology, Bioengineering, or a related scientific field.
Minimum 1–2 Years of Professional Experience: 1–2 years of professional laboratory experience (internship experience will be considered).
Hands-on Cell Culture Experience: Comfortable working in a biosafety cabinet (biohood) and understanding of aseptic technique.
Execution-Focused: A strong sense of urgency and the ability to meet tight production deadlines.
Operational Consistency: Experience performing high-volume, repetitive technical tasks with a high degree of accuracy and consistency.
Top-Tier Communication Skills: You will be a key face of Deco Labs for many of our customers and should demonstrate professional, friendly, and effective communication across email, video calls, and in-person meetings.
Nice-to-Haves:
Technical Record-Keeping: Experience with formal QC processes, SOPs, or technical documentation.
Logistics Knowledge: Familiarity with shipping sensitive biological materials or product fulfillment.

Compensation:
The salary range for this position in Boston, MA starts at $65,000 per year plus Equity Options, comprehensive Health, Dental, and Vision Benefits, and a 401(k) Retirement Savings Program. A candidate's salary will be determined by various factors (including but not limited to), relevant work experience, skills, and certifications.
