Job Summary
Control or operate machinery or equipment to assist with manufacturing, packaging, and other steps along a production line. May be expected to handle heavy machinery.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation: set up, operate, and shut down manufacturing machinery, including extruders or computer-controlled tools.
Quality Control: Inspect finished products to ensure they meet specifications.
Maintenance and Cleaning: Perform routine preventative maintenance, troubleshoot malfunctions, and keep the work area clean.
Monitoring & Efficiency: monitor production processes to optimize performance, reduce waste, and minimize downtime.
Reporting & Documentation: record data regarding materials used and products produced, ensuring accurate documentation.
Safety Compliance: adhere to all safety protocols and health regulations to prevent hazards.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Ability to read shop floor papers and operate machinery.
Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift materials (up to 50 lbs.)
Attention to detail
Troubleshooting skills
Ability to communicate, work well with a team, and report issues to supervision.
