We are seeking a hands-on, deliverables-oriented electrical engineer to join our world-class team and own the measurement, electrical, and control infrastructure at our Batavia manufacturing facility. We’re early in our manufacturing scale-up, so you will have the opportunity to be part of creating and growing our mission-driven company.
Responsibilities
Field Instrumentation
Select, install, calibrate, and tune instrumentation (flow, temperature, pressure, level, analytical) at measurement points throughout the facility.
Own loop commissioning end-to-end and troubleshoot failures independently.
Low-Voltage Electrical & Wiring
Design and execute low-voltage electrical installations: wire pulling, termination, conduit layout, panel wiring, and as-built documentation.
Select communication protocols (4–20 mA, HART, RS-485 Modbus, Ethernet/IP) appropriate to the application; own signal integrity troubleshooting.
Controls & Automation
Write and maintain PLC programs (Allen-Bradley and AutomationDirect environments)
Tune PID loops to meet production targets
Process Data
Develop dashboards or pipelines that translate historian/SQL data into information operations and R&D can act on within the Ignition ecosystem
Ensure data historian is up-to-date, including pulling in non-PLC signals and batch records into existing Ignition historian database
General
Support equipment commissioning and serve as the facility SME for instrumentation, controls, and low-voltage electrical.
Qualifications/Skills
Required
B.S. in Electrical, Chemical, or Instrumentation Engineering (or related); 5+ years hands-on experience in a manufacturing or process facility.
Independent instrumentation skills: selection, installation, calibration, and field troubleshooting.
Strong low-voltage electrical fundamentals -- wire, terminate, and troubleshoot without contractor dependency.
PLC programming in Allen-Bradley and/or AutomationDirect; solid grasp of PID and process control concepts.
Fluent in industrial communication protocols; able to read and produce P&IDs, loop sheets, and wiring diagrams.
Ability to follow rules and protocols and prioritize operations environment.
Attention to scientific and numeric detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication.
Preferred
Experience building usable process data infrastructure (historians, SQL, dashboards).
SCADA platform experience (Ignition, FactoryTalk, or similar)
Background in startup, pilot, or novel process development environments.

Logistics
This is a hands-on, on-site position, so you will need to be able to commute to our facility in Batavia, IL. Savor provides competitive salary, with base compensation in the range of $120-150k.
