What your role is
FUNCTION/POSITION OVERVIEW
Our EUAU Old El Paso and Green Giant business is growing and needs an R&D Technician I, to support the growth of the business by collaborating with the team during the development and commercialization of innovation and renovation projects.
In this role you will provide benchtop support to develop new products and packaging materials for the EUAU Meal business. This position is primarily focused on hands-on development and execution. You will also support the team in the maintenance of GMPs, 5s, Food and People Safety standards, and general administrative tasks.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the team to develop bench product prototypes of new and improved products in the pilot plant.
- Collaborate with scientists on method development and enhancements.
- Enable the commercialization of new products by supporting the execution of line trials and start-up of new products and new lines
- Collaborate with ingredient suppliers to improve ingredient quality, define ingredient specs and alignment on analytical methods for characterization
- Build ingredients and finished product specs and document them in the specifications systems.
- Support the team in the implementation, maintenance and improvement of the pilot plant GMPs, 5S methodology and Food and People safety policies.
- Conduct administrative tasks to enable smooth team operation: Documentation support: invoices, PO management, shipments, customs procedures.
- Actively participate in the San Adrian Technical Center community, contributing to organizational effectiveness, promoting inclusion and diversity, supporting team and culture building, fostering connections and learning, and contributing to sustainability efforts.
What you will bring to the team
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Formación Profesional de Grado Superior en Industria Alimentaria or similar
- 1+ year experience in food industry
- High bias for action and ability to execute tasks with speed and accuracy
- Strong team collaboration skills, flexibility and agility
- Comfortable with ambiguity and fast changing priorities
- Basic computer/technology skills (Office Suite and other computer programs).
- Basic understanding of food safety and human safety principles.
- Comfortable working in a processing (pilot plant or plant) environment and operating equipment.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS/EXPERIENCES
- 1+ years of experience in quality labs and R&D pilot plant/lab support
- Fluent in English
- Driving license
- Supportive and Enabling: Provide crucial support for bench-top experiments and pilot plant runs, managing logistics (product pick-up, shipping/receiving).
- Contribute to a positive and collaborative work environment
