About the role
As Category Buyer – Food Ingredients, you will manage the end-to-end buying process for an assigned portfolio supporting manufacturing sites in scope. Your focus will be on transactional efficiency, supply assurance, and cost optimization, while contributing to sourcing strategies and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end buy process: preparation, negotiation, execution, and contract implementation
- Evaluate and select suppliers based on cost, quality, service, and capability
- Ensure security of supply, including spot, urgent, and tail-spend buys
- Support and contribute to sourcing strategies for essential and efficiency categories
- Negotiate agreements and deliver savings in line with Procurement objectives
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery, quality, pricing, and invoice issues
- Identify productivity and continuous improvement opportunities
- Use RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, auctions, and bidding tools as appropriate
- Track and report results in relevant procurement systems
What you bring
- Experience in procurement or buying, ideally within food ingredients or manufacturing environments
- Strong negotiation and supplier management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, operational role
- Understanding of market dynamics and cost drivers
- Collaborative mindset with a focus on execution and results
