Role Description:
Senior Scientist, Purification Process will focused on the innovative development of downstream biopharmaceutical purification reagents, chromatography resins, and other separation method. Responsible for tracking cutting-edge technologies, conducting in-depth competitive product deconstruction, validating application scenarios, and performing proof-of-concept (POC) studies for novel materials—thereby providing technical direction, data support, and innovative solutions for the next-generation purification products of the company.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Academic & Technical Intelligence Tracking (Academia + Industry)
Continuously monitor global advancements in purification technologies, novel ligands, separation materials, and antibody/recombinant protein process innovations. Track technology roadmaps, patent portfolios, and new product launches of competitors. Regularly produce reports on technology trends, patent analyses, competitive product deconstructions, and innovation opportunities.
2. In-Depth Competitive Product Analysis and Performance Deconstruction
Conduct systematic tests on benchmarks of purification. Establish performance evaluation for competitive products and generate key metrics to guide product upgrades.
3. Proof-of-Concept for Novel Concepts, Materials, and Processes
Build internal technical platforms to validate novel concepts, materials, and processes, thereby providing technical direction, data support, and innovative solutions for the next-generation purification products.
4. Purification Application Development (Supporting Product Commercialization)
Develop application methods for the company’s purification products: establish standard operating procedures (SOPs), application protocols, and performance datasets.
Qualifications:
1. Education: PhD in Biochemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Pharmaceutical Engineering, or related fields.
2. Specialization: Preferred expertise in chromatography, protein purification, downstream processing, or biomacromolecule analysis.
3. Competencies:
a. Deep understanding of the design, expression, and purification processes of biomacromolecules such as antibodies and proteins; familiar with downstream application scenarios;
b. Research experience during PhD in purification processes, chromatography, or other separation materials;
c. Profound comprehension of protein physicochemical properties, pI, hydrophobicity, impurity behavior, and HCP removal strategies;
d. Demonstrated capabilities in evaluating purification performance, conducting proof-of-concept (POC) studies, experimental design, data analysis, and technical reporting;
e. Industry experience at pharmaceutical companies or CDMOs is preferred;
f. Exceptional independent thinking, technical insight, experimental design, and problem-solving skills;
g. Rigorous logic and data-driven mindset; capable of producing structured technical reports;
h. Fluent in both Chinese and English.
