The Global Marine & Air Supplier Manager is responsible for end-to-end management of the global 4PL model and associated 3PL ecosystem across Air and Ocean freight within IFF’s Scent & Taste business.
This role partners with the 4PL provider to deliver against contractual commitments, while advancing service excellence, cost competitiveness, operational resilience, and continuous value creation. The position acts as the primary global interface between the 4PL, suppliers, and key logistics stakeholders such as planning and customer service, ensuring alignment with business priorities and supply chain strategy.
A core focus is on governance, performance management, and optimization of the 4PL operating model, while contributing to procurement activities, shipment execution, and strategic initiatives across the Air & Ocean category.
This role can be based out of our offices in the Netherlands – Tilburg, Leiden, Hilversum OR Asturias, Spain in a hybrid capacity.
Where You’ll Make a Difference
Manage the overall Marine & Air category for the Scent & Taste business, largely through the global relationship with the 4PL provider, ensuring alignment with Scent & Taste supply chain strategy
Establish and lead a structured governance framework across operational, tactical, and executive levels
Oversee end-to-end performance, including KPI tracking, issue resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure contractual compliance and identify gaps in service delivery or scope execution
Monitor and manage performance of strategic carriers, partnering with Procurement to ensure execution of carrier strategies
Act as a global escalation point for critical shipments, ensuring proactive exception management and effective communication
Build strong cross-functional partnerships with site logistics, planning and order fulfilment and translate business needs into clear service expectations, while supporting tenders, market intelligence, and value creation initiatives
What Makes You the Right Fit
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or a related field
Proven experience in global logistics, 4PL/3PL management, or freight operations (Air & Ocean)
Strong knowledge of end-to-end supply chain processes, including transportation, warehousing, and order fulfilment is a plus
Demonstrated ability to manage supplier performance, contracts, and service level agreements
Experience establishing governance frameworks and driving performance through KPIs and continuous improvement
Solid understanding of global freight market dynamics, including capacity trends, regulations, and risk mitigation strategies
Ability to manage complex stakeholder environments and build effective cross-functional relationships
Strong problem-solving skills with experience handling escalations and driving timely resolution of operational issues
Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to translate business needs into actionable logistics strategies
