Responsible for managing the day-to-day maintenance activities at the plant, providing professional leadership and direct supervision of the maintenance team to ensure maximum equipment availability, employee safety, and compliance with production, quality, and regulatory objectives. The position reports to the Maintenance Manager, who oversees maintenance operations across both manufacturing sites.
Key Responsibilities
Directly manage the plant maintenance team, including work allocation, task prioritization, professional guidance, and employee development.
Oversee the daily activities of the maintenance team, ensuring timely task completion and achievement of departmental objectives.
Lead preventive, corrective, and planned maintenance activities for production equipment, machinery, and facility infrastructure.
Troubleshoot complex technical issues and ensure prompt resolution to minimize equipment downtime.
Work closely with the Maintenance Manager to implement maintenance plans, prioritize activities, execute projects, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Collaborate with Production, Engineering, Quality, and Operations departments to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Supervise external contractors and service providers, ensuring compliance with company safety and quality standards.
Manage the availability of spare parts, tools, and maintenance equipment required for ongoing operations.
Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, GMP requirements, and quality standards.
Initiate and lead continuous improvement activities to enhance equipment reliability and reduce maintenance-related downtime.
Maintain accurate maintenance documentation, prepare reports, and monitor maintenance KPIs.
Requirements:
Previous experience in industrial maintenance.
Experience in employee supervision or team leadership – an advantage.
Relevant education (Practical Engineer or B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field).
Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to make decisions and prioritize tasks effectively.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computerized systems.
High level of responsibility, initiative, and the ability to work effectively with multiple cross-functional interfaces.
