The Role: The Controls Engineer will get Again's newly commissioned TXS-1 gas fermentation plant in Houston running smoothly, assist with design and construction of the next, larger commercial plant, and own specification, commissioning, and start-up of its automation and supervision system.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement DCS architecture and control specifications
- - Collaborate with process engineering and operations to capture operational philosophy via control narratives and cause and effect matrices
- - Participate in hazard identification workshops
- - Engage vendors during procurement to ensure equipment compatibility with control philosophy
- - Act as primary internal resource for controls and automation, overseeing FATs, SATs, loop testing, commissioning, and startup
- - Help lead IT architecture development for the industrial site
Requirements:
- Hands-on experience with control systems and process automation, including major DCS platforms
- - Expertise in programming PLCs and/or other DCS
- - Ability to troubleshoot automation equipment (sensors, control valves, VFDs)
- - Willing to relocate to the Houston, TX area (Texas City)
- - US citizen or work permit required
