We are looking for a highly motivated Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our team for a 6-month internship. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your engineering knowledge to the development of innovative hardware for 3D food-printing systems while working alongside an international team of motivated engineers.
What You’ll Do
As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will contribute to the development of in-house hardware for our 3D-printing production facility.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Researching and analyzing innovative design concepts for 3D-printing hardware used in the production of vegan fish, meat, and alternative food products
- Creating detailed 3D models and engineering drawings of hardware components
- Evaluating and selecting suitable materials and manufacturing processes
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams within the R&D department
- Supporting prototyping and testing, and iterating designs based on feedback and test results
- Helping transition hardware designs from prototypes to mass production, with a focus on manufacturability and scalability
- Conducting risk assessments and supporting compliance with relevant safety standards
- Collaborating with external suppliers and manufacturers to source components and oversee hardware production
What We’re Looking For
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Design, Mechatronics, or a related field
- Previous internship or practical experience in a relevant engineering field is a strong advantage
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM; experience with Fusion 360 or other Autodesk software is beneficial
- Programming knowledge in C++ and/or Python; knowledge of other programming languages is a plus
- Basic understanding of electrotechnics, sensors, mechanical systems, and thermodynamic processes
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Innovative mindset and enthusiasm for engineering and technology
- Ability to work independently in a structured and goal-oriented way
- Strong teamwork and communication skills
- Fluent English
