Position Summary
The Logistics Manager oversees Kite Hill's end-to-end transportation operations, ensuring products are shipped and delivered on time, at the right cost, and within required temperature specifications. This role manages carrier and warehouse relationships, freight routing, delivery performance, logistics documentation, and resolution of customer and operational issues.
Postion is remote, part-time (20hrs per week) and temporary from October 26, 2026 through February 26th, 2027. Payrate is $50/Hour.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage daily transportation for chilled, frozen, LTL, and FTL shipments across Kite Hill's distribution network.
• Select carriers, obtain freight quotes, coordinate routing, and manage weekly freight
tenders.
• Manage relationships and performance with key transportation providers and third-party warehouses.
• Monitor shipment status, delivery ETAs, on-time performance, and carrier service levels.
• Investigate and resolve shortages, overages, damages, temperature excursions, refused shipments, and other delivery discrepancies.
• Partner with warehouses and carriers to reconcile BOLs, PODs, loading documentation,
temperature records, and inventory discrepancies.
• Manage cold-chain compliance and coordinate temperature excursion investigations with Quality Assurance.
• Review and approve freight invoices and work with Finance to address carrier payment, credit, and service risks.
• Monitor freight spend and identify opportunities to improve cost, routing, consolidation, and carrier performance.
• Maintain freight trackers, routing guides, SOPs, and transportation documentation.
• Partner cross-functionally with Supply Chain, Customer Service, Finance, Operations, and Quality Assurance to proactively resolve logistics issues.
• Escalate transportation risks that could impact customer service, product quality, revenue,
or supply continuity.
