Summary Description
The Human Resources Intern is a highly motivated university or community college student that wants to learn and contribute to the Human Resources team through working on short-term projects and administrative support work. The internship is anticipated to be approximately 2-3 months.
Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities
Provides support and learns day-to-day work.
Works on assigned projects that may vary from: Benefits & Wellness, HR Data & Report Creation, Recruitment Coordination, Safety, SOP Development, etc.
Have weekly learning sessions on different parts of HR.
Assists in company related events and activities.
Assist the department in becoming paperless.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Long term interest in a HR career
Knowledge of Microsoft Office produces such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
Research skills
Discretion in handling confidential information and sensitive documents
Ability to analyze data and problem solve.
Ability to communicate effectively with others both verbally and written format.
Demonstrate a commitment to quality and accuracy.
Ability to travel to other locations for day trips.
Preferred Qualifications
Student or recent graduate (within 2 years) of a college or university related to Human Resources, Business Management, Organization Psychology, or related field.
Biliterate English / Spanish
Physical Requirements
Job requires ability to sit for long periods of time to perform duties. Also required is the ability to walk around and make inquiries from other staff, management, etc. Must be able to bend or stoop down to access file cabinets including lifting of items or objects up to 10 pounds.
