At IFF, we harness the power of bioscience to create innovative enzyme solutions for the food industry. Our Food Enzymes business is growing, and we’re looking for an Application Specialist with hands-on experience in the bakery industry to join our team in Brazil.
Focus
• As Application Specialist you will serve our customers with technical support for bakery enzyme products together with colleagues from our local and global organization.
• You will work in close collaboration with our Global Bakery Enzyme Application Team and R&D Food Enzyme colleagues to explore the functionality of different enzymes used within bakery applications. You should also expect to be involved in external customer opportunities.
• You will be responsible for the development of solid technical knowledge of the entire bakery enzyme product portfolio to gain customer confidence.
How You Will Contribute
- Provide technical support to bakery customers (industrial bakers, flour mills, improver houses).
- Conduct pilot plant trials and lab experiments to evaluate enzyme performance.
- Collaborate with global R&D and application teams to optimize bakery enzyme solutions.
- Support sales with technical insights, customer visits, and product demonstrations.
- Contribute to product development, documentation, and customer training.
What You Will Need to Be Successful
- Degree in Food Science, Bakery Technology, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in the baking industry or food ingredients sector.
- Practical knowledge of bakery processes; enzyme experience is a plus.
- Strong teamwork skills; customer-oriented mindset.
- Basic English and willingness to travel occasionally.
- Customer-focused, open-minded and thrive in a highly dynamic and complex matrix organization with cultural differences.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, along with good reporting and record keeping skills;
