Director of Process Engineering
We’re seeking a strategic, hands-on leader to head our Process Engineering team in developing cutting-edge food waste processing systems, including anaerobic digestion, RNG upgrading, and wastewater treatment. This role blends high-level technical expertise with people leadership to drive innovation, standardization, and scalable design across multiple projects. Can be remote, (~25% self-directed travel as needed)

Bring Strategic & Technical Leadership
Set vision and goals for process engineering aligned with company strategy.
Drive design innovation to boost throughput, reduce CAPEX/OPEX, and enhance reliability.
Lead technology evaluation and implementation across digestion, RNG, and water treatment.
Provide Team Leadership & Development
Mentor and manage a team of engineers and subject matter experts.
Translate company goals into actionable engineering plans.
Build a high-performance, values-driven culture focused on results and accountability.
Oversee Projects
Approve PFDs, P&IDs, mass balances, and control philosophies.
Ensure quality and standardization across engineering deliverables.
Support design reviews, PHAs, FATs, and commissioning activities.
Manage Equipment & Vendor Strategy
Guide specification and procurement of process equipment.
Build relationships with vendors and influence technology choices.
Offer Operations Support
Provide senior-level troubleshooting and process optimization.
Lead RCAs, FMEAs, and structured problem-solving efforts.
Rock star creds;
B.S./M.S. in Chemical Engineering.
10+ years of process engineering experience in anaerobic digestion, RNG, or wastewater.
3+ years in engineering leadership.
Proven track record in designing and delivering continuous processing systems.
Deep knowledge of process safety and engineering standards.
Safety, safety, safety first mindset in everything you do
Bonus points if you have;
Experience in food or organic waste processing.
Familiarity with environmental permitting and compliance.
Background in modular/scalable industrial design.
What's In It For You?
Compensation Range: $140,000 - $180,000 annually
