We are looking for an experienced laboratory technician or scientist with experience and passion for protein chemistry & characterization, assay development and general analytical support within production of recombinant proteins in fungi and bacteria.
You will be working on internal and external R&D projects together with 21st.BIO colleagues and our customers. The analytical team in 21st.BIO functions as the scientific eyes to understand our technology and need to be able to communicate to scientists as well as non-scientists.
Your main responsibilities will be to run existing HPLC-based protein quantification of recombinant milk proteins, LabChip-based protein quantification, and method/assay development for new proteins. In addition, analytical methods to support our strain construction and process development will be part of your job. The job includes a variety of tasks ranging from routine laboratory work such as preparing buffers and maintaining equipment to developing new HPLC methods and biochemical assays.
Importantly, we’re a start-up company and we all need to contribute where needed, and therefore you need to be flexible as in periods your job functions may be different.
Preferred candidates possess experience in one or more of the following areas:
Experience with protein chemistry and assay development
Hands-on experience with HPLC analyses, including data analysis
Protein quantification assays, eg. HPLC, LabChip, ELISA
Assay development outside the protein area, ie. fermentation media components, metabolites, (e.g., using Gallery), etc.
Automation of routine laboratory tasks
Knowledge about strain construction and genetic tools
