The Role
Are you passionate about hands-on lab work and eager to help bring innovative polymer products to market? As a Lab Technician in Corbion’s Polymer Technology group, you’ll play a crucial role in the practical execution of development projects focused on bioresorbable and implantable polymers for medical and pharmaceutical applications. You’ll work in a dynamic, supportive team where collaboration, training, and operational excellence are valued. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys lab work, thrives on following procedures, and finds satisfaction in seeing projects move quickly from concept to production.
Key Responsibilities
Execute practical lab work for development projects, focusing on polymer synthesis and process optimization.
Independently plan and carry out research and experiments according to established protocols, with support from senior colleagues when needed.
Document procedures and results in line with Corbion standards.
Analyze and interpret experimental data, monitor progress, and adjust as necessary to ensure quality outcomes.
Present and discuss results with your team and other departments.
Maintain lab facilities, equipment, and safety standards, including ordering supplies and ensuring stock levels.
Support onboarding and training of new colleagues and interns.
Contribute to the development and improvement of lab protocols.
Foster a safe and orderly work environment, actively participating in EHS and quality activities.
Collaborate closely with scientists, senior technicians, and other team members, especially during short, focused project sprints.
You Bring
BSc in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent (MBO 4 with relevant lab experience is also welcome).
1-4 years of experience in a lab environment, ideally with polymers or chemical processes.
Strong practical skills and a solution-oriented mindset.
Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
Proactive, pragmatic, and hands-on approach.
Fluency in English (written and spoken); Dutch is a plus.
Comfortable working in a GMP or highly regulated environment.
Experience with process scale-up and transferring lab processes to production is a plus.
