The Roles
We’ve got a couple of new roles in the team, Associate Engineer and Engineer I, so we are looking for people with 3+ years experience.
So, if you’re a Pilot Plant Engineer with a background in biotechnology (ideally mammalian cell culture, but other experiences are welcome) have a read of the below and see if this is something you’d like to get involved with.
What You’ll Do
You’ll help define and optimise our processes at bench and/or pilot scale, working on cutting-edge bioprocessing challenges, developing and optimising processes at bench (250ml–3L scale) or pilot scale (50-600L+)
Support and be actively involved in pilot-scale operations and scale-up activities
Plan and execute complex experiments, documenting everything to a high standard
Transfer new technologies from R&D to pilot scale
Analyse data, prepare reports, and share insights with the team
Collaborate across R&D, Quality, and Manufacturing
Mentor team members and champion best practices
What We’re Looking For
Degree in Engineering, Food Science, or similar (Master’s a plus)
3 years’ industry experience in process development
Hands-on experience with bench-scale reactors (pilot-scale experience is a bonus)
Knowledge of bioreactor control systems, PID loops, and process modes (batch, fed-batch, perfusion)
Strong data analysis and technical writing skills
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Familiarity with systems like Eppendorf Dasbox or Applikon is a plus
