Beyond Meat is seeking a Senior Director, Financial Reporting to join our Finance team. In this role, you will lead the external financial reporting functions and have direct exposure to leaders within Accounting, Finance, Legal and other departments across the company. Directs and manages the Company’s external reporting (including but not limited to Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K and Annual Proxy Statement) and technical research and implementation of accounting issues to ensure compliance with US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
The ideal candidate will be a leader with a passion to learn and a continuous improvement mindset with a focus on streamlining and building efficient controlled processes. The candidate must have the ability to evaluate complex arrangements and determine appropriate accounting conclusions and set direction over financial reporting processes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to deliver and work under tight time constraints are a must.
Tasks, Duties, & General Responsibilities
Preparation and filing of the Company’s current, quarterly and annual reports to the SEC such as Forms 8-K, 10-Q, 10-K, Section 16 filings; and assisting in the preparation of the proxy statement. Preparation of the financial statements for disclosure, notes to financial statements and disclosures included in management’s discussion and analysis of the SEC filings.
Manages stock plan administration and ensures compliance
Research new accounting standards, provide analyses, and drive compliance with GAAP, FASB, and SEC regulations.
Administration and maintenance of Beyond Meat’s equity plan platform, share-based compensation accounting, reporting and disclosure
Interacts professionally and ethically, constructively participating as a collaborative team member or leader in pursuit of common goals
Collaborate with payroll group to process equity transactions and review taxation
Process new awards, RSU lapses and prepare monthly/quarterly reconciliations
Work with internal and external auditors to maintain SOX compliance
Compliance with international tax regulation for stock plan transactions
Preparation of quarterly and annual GAAP checklist for review
Other activities, duties or responsibilities that are assigned by the CFO
Supervisory Duties (if applicable)
Lead, manage, and supervise all direct report(s)
Accountable for developing Team Members through on-going performance feedback and career management coaching
Conduct performance reviews of direct reports
Mentor and develop team members, create succession plan, and identify/recruit key talent
Qualifications
Education, Technical Skills, and/or Previous Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or higher, Accounting or Finance required
Ten (10) or more years of accounting experience, with at least four (4) or more years in a public accounting firm at the level of Manager or above
Experience working in publicly traded organization in a Financial Reporting role
Must have a strong understanding of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements and be able to understand complex accounting literature and apply to business/specific transactions.
Perform with high accuracy under tight time constraints and can effectively interact with key financial personnel
Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills and commitment to a high level of accuracy
CPA required
Knowledge of Workiva’s WDesk highly desired
Excellent writing and communication skills
Experience and knowledge of NetSuite, advanced Excel skills, Bank of America/Merrill Lynch Benefits Online/Award Choice Financial Reporting
Strong attention to detail, demonstrated integrity and professionalism
SOX and internal controls experience

WORK ENVIRONMENT
On site in person 5 days a week at our El Segundo, CA HQ Office
**Annual salary commensurate with experience**
The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $205,000 and $235,000. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for bonus and benefits.
