About Us
Savor is a Series A stage startup pursuing transformational technology to produce high-quality, value-added fats and oils for food, cosmetics, and specialty chemistry industries without negative climate impact. We are taking an extremely ambitious bet in the climate fight and we’re looking for someone who shares our passion for the mission to build a more sustainable and just food system.
We are seeking a results-oriented, integrity-driven Head of Operations to join our world-class team in scaling up our novel products and process. We’re early in our manufacturing and sales efforts, so you will have the opportunity to be part of creating and growing our values-first, mission-driven company.
The Role
We're seeking an experienced operations leader to own and coordinate business operations across finance, HR, legal, compliance, and regulatory. You'll report directly to the CEO and work with existing partners and teams—inheriting and evolving live systems as we scale—while staying hands-on enough to fill gaps and get things done.
Savor's operations team is lean by design. You'll manage 1–2 direct reports to start, coordinate a broader network of external partners, and bring coherence to a wide set of work streams that span the full business. This is a leadership role in the truest sense: you'll be expected to hold the operational picture across the company, identify what needs attention, and make sure it gets done. You'll also be a close partner to the CEO—someone she trusts to think clearly about what's broken, what's next, and how to execute with excellence.
Day-to-day, you'll spend your time on things like:
Finance & Budgeting: Working with our finance partner to manage cash flow, forecasting, P&L review, and supporting fundraising efforts
Legal: Managing relationships with external counsel and internal legal leadership to handle the company's contractual needs
Insurance & Risk: Overseeing coverage strategy, managing claims, and ensuring appropriate protections across the business
People Ops & HR: Coordinating with our HR partners on hiring, onboarding, and benefits administration. You'll also own strategic people ops work—compensation strategy, culture initiatives, retention, and organizational design as we grow.
General Business Administration: Managing tax and accounting partners, business registrations and licensing, IT, and internal systems and policies
Regulatory: Executing on regulatory compliance and strategy; ensuring we meet requirements to operate and sell product in target markets
Manufacturing Operations: Develop a working knowledge of Savor's manufacturing operations and play a role in shaping how we build and scale that function over time.
Who Thrives Here
You're a great fit if:
You have 10+ years of operations or business administration experience at a scaling company. You understand how organizations grow and can bring rigor and best practices without over-engineering for where we are now.
You bring substantive expertise in at least 2–3 of: finance, legal, regulatory, HR, compliance, or technical operations.
You think systems-first, notice what's broken before it becomes a crisis, and build durable processes.
You care more about getting it right than being right. You're results-oriented, intellectually honest, and work with good judgment.
You care about the mission and want to build something meaningful with a small, committed team.
