Job Overview
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities within a food and beverage manufacturing facility. This role supports equipment reliability and production uptime by organizing preventive maintenance activities, coordinating labor and materials, and assisting maintenance mechanics with efficient work execution. The Maintenance Planner also develops and maintains preventive maintenance (PM) procedures and work instructions to support safe, effective, and standardized maintenance practices.
This is a 6-month temporary position with potential for permanent employment.
Responsibilities
Plan and schedule preventive maintenance and corrective work orders to support production and maintenance priorities.
Coordinate maintenance schedules with Production, Sanitation, Quality, Engineering, and other departments as needed.
Prepare and organize work orders with required parts, tools, documentation, and job details prior to scheduled work.
Coordinate and support parts kitting activities for planned maintenance tasks.
Build and organize the company’s CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) for approximately 250 pieces of production and facilities equipment.
Monitor work order status and assist in maintaining accurate maintenance records within the CMMS.
Assist mechanics and technicians by ensuring planned work is organized and ready for execution.
Create, update, and maintain preventive maintenance procedures, inspection tasks, and equipment work instructions.
Develop PMs for new and existing equipment based on operational and maintenance requirements.
Review completed work orders for accuracy, completion, and proper documentation.
Support maintenance backlog management and scheduling priorities.
Assist with identifying recurring equipment issues and opportunities for maintenance improvements.
Maintain organized maintenance documentation and equipment records.
Support food safety, GMP, safety, and facility compliance requirements.
Participate in maintenance meetings, planning discussions, and project coordination activities.
Qualifications
Basic understanding of maintenance planning and scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and work order systems.
Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and prioritize maintenance activities.
Basic understanding of industrial equipment and maintenance terminology.
Ability to create and document maintenance procedures and PM tasks.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Proficient with computers and CMMS systems.
Ability to work effectively with maintenance mechanics, production personnel, and cross-functional teams.
Minimum of 5 years of CMMS experience required.
Prior experience with MVP One is preferred but not required.
Education/Experience
Experience within a food and beverage manufacturing environment preferred.
Experience using a CMMS or electronic work order system preferred.
Experience coordinating maintenance parts and materials preferred
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
