Veterinary Technician/Receptionist! Immediate availability!
Full-Time Position: Community Animal Hospital in Broomall has an immediate opening for a full-time veterinary technician/receptionist. Strong technical skills, communication skills, energy, enthusiasm, and a caring attitude are a must!
Community Animal Hospital is a 2-doctor, well-equipped and progressive small animal hospital. Our office is fully computerized and we have digital radiology and an in-house laboratory, along with all the tools that we need to provide the best care for our clients and patients.
Our current position entails about 40% technical, 40% reception, and 20% animal care and hospital maintenance. We need four weekdays per week (8-5, no nights), along with shared Saturday hours (Sat AM 8:30-12:30) and shared weekend/holiday patient and boarder care (about 1 hour AM and PM Sat and Sun).
Responsibilities include:
Answering the phone and scheduling appointments
Greeting clients, checking clients in and out
Admitting and discharging patients and surgeries
Filling prescriptions and keeping accurate records (AVIMark veterinary software)
Exam room assistance
Animal restraint, treatment, medication, fluid administration
Handling lab samples and running in house diagnostic tests (Idexx Catalyst, etc)
Surgical assistance, anesthetic monitoring, patient recovery monitoring
Radiology assistance and positioning (fully digital)
Keeping the hospital, exam and treatment areas clean, organized, and stocked
Care of medical and surgical in-patients as well as boarders and resident cats
Experience:
Applicant should have at least 1 year of experience in an animal hospital
Veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience
Front desk/CSR experience (experience with AVIMark system is a bonus)
Basic knowledge of dog and cat preventive health care, vaccines, etc
Experience with dog and cat handling and restraint, medication
Familiarity with basic laboratory tests
Compensation:
Pay: From $20/hr
