We are a high-caliber team building the sensing and AI infrastructure for autonomous biomanufacturing: real-time electrochemical biosensors, closed-loop AI process control, and our bioreactor platform. We work alongside major technology partners in the sensing, computing, and industrial automation space. This is not a large-company role. We hire people who personally do the work at the highest level.
Role Summary
You will personally design the analog frontend for our sensor hardware and lay out the boards yourself. This is a hands-on design and build role, not a supervisory one.
Key Responsibilities
Design analog frontend circuitry for low-noise acquisition of electrochemical sensor signals (e.g., potentiostat circuits, transimpedance amplification, ADC interfacing).
Personally design and layout multi-layer printed circuit boards.
Select components and develop bill-of-materials for prototype and production hardware.
Build, bring up, and bench-test prototype boards.
Develop signal processing and filtering approaches, in firmware or DSP, to extract clean signal from noisy sensor data.
Debug hardware issues directly using bench equipment such as oscilloscopes and logic analyzers.
Support EMI/EMC considerations and hardware compliance testing.
Collaborate closely with the electrochemistry and software teams to optimize the full signal chain from sensor to data output.
Maintain clear schematics, layout files, and design documentation.
Requirements
BSc or MSc in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
Hands-on experience designing analog front-end circuits for low-signal sensor applications.
PCB layout experience using tools such as Altium, KiCad, or Eagle.
Solid understanding of low-noise analog design principles.
Experience with embedded firmware or digital signal processing.
Comfortable personally debugging hardware at the bench.
Nice to Have
Experience designing instrumentation for electrochemical sensors (e.g., potentiostat design).
Experience developing hardware for regulated industries (pharmaceutical, medical device, or similar).
Experience with wireless or IoT-connected sensor hardware.
