JOB PURPOSE AND IMPACT
This role partners closely with the analytics team, trading team and commercial team to deliver timely decision support in a dynamic and fast-moving market. Beyond strong analytical capability, the role emphasizes judgment under uncertainty, process visibility via iterative updates, and a collaborative, structured, execution-owned, evolving approach.
The role also participates in customer visits and onsite industry research, delivering analysis and support in a multi-team, cross-functional working environment. Daily responsibilities include continuous tracking of agricultural market data and industry information, conducting market monitoring, organizing and validating data, maintaining relevant databases, and contributing to supply, demand and price analysis. The goal is to translate analysis into insights that support trading decisions and business judgment.
Please note that this role requires a 2-month internship assessment period.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Market data and industry information tracking
• Continuously collect, track and explore key data and market intelligence across the agricultural value chain, including inputs from commercial teams, customers and industry channels.
• Convert industry information into structured data and analytical materials, and cross-validate data and market information to ensure accuracy.
• Ensure data is properly stored in local or global databases to support ongoing analysis and trading activities.
2. Fundamental and trading analysis
• Continuously update supply and demand data for relevant agricultural products and contribute to fundamental analysis.
• Track domestic and international price movements and participate in price analysis.
• Identify structural market trends and potential risks, and assess the impact of key factors on fundamentals.
• Gradually build a solid understanding of agricultural value chains and market mechanisms, forming analytical frameworks and methods.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Demonstrated interest in agricultural commodity markets, driven by curiosity and a genuine motivation to learn.
• Proven analytical capability, able to make sound judgments in uncertain environments and proactively identify and address problems.
• A strong data mindset, focused on structuring, validating and maintaining data assets that enable scalable analysis and future AI-enabled use cases.
• Clear and effective communication skills, capable of articulating complex ideas concisely in both written and verbal formats.
• Comfort working in a small, highly collaborative team, contributing actively and constructively to shared outcomes.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Internship experience or academic background related to agriculture, commodities or data analysis.
• Familiarity with basic data analysis methods or data processing tools.
• Basic understanding of futures markets or commodity markets.
