Job type: Full-time, 12-month fixed-term contract (MAT cover)
Location: Banbury, London, Cardiff, or Belfast – you will be contractually based in the office nearest to you with hybrid working.

The role
Do you want to make change happen by providing high-quality research and analysis that is practical and useful for businesses, governments and third sector organisations?
We’re looking for an experienced researcher and analyst to lead projects that deliver influential insights, helping decision-makers use evidence to meet objectives. You will want to work on cross-cutting themes spanning a variety of subjects and disciplines to improve people’s lives and the planet’s health.
As a Senior Analyst in our Materials Policy, Research and Data team, you will:
Lead research, analysis and evaluation tasks and projects on a variety of topics. This could include setting out methods for measuring repair and reuse levels for different products, specifying guidance for an industry sector to conduct life cycle assessments, or synthesising learnings on impactful waste-reduction policies.
Cover a range of projects, balancing the demands of different tasks and deadlines by task-managing and developing less experienced team members. You’ll do this by working closely with the Lead Analyst team and other Senior Analysts to balance workload and share learning across the team and wider colleagues.
Identify opportunities for our team to grow through new projects and support the Lead Analyst team with bids and stakeholder relationships, in line with the team’s growth strategy.

You Should Be Able To
demonstrate working knowledge of quantifying the impacts (e.g. climate, water) of textile production, use and disposal;
write well-argued reports based on robust research and analysis, demonstrating an ability to present complex data and information to different technical and lay audiences;
manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders in terms of research project scope, recommending appropriate research methods to accommodate funder requests without scope creep;
plan and deliver a series of related research projects over the year, managing competing deadlines and resource requests on your (or the project team’s) time, building in flexibility where possible and negotiating with managers where not; and
understand the principles of sustainability and the circular economy.
