About the role
Senior Applications Technologist for the Bakers, Snacks & Confectionery segment. Lead technical projects and develop new solutions and concepts for the EMEA region. Lead technical roadmap development, transfer knowledge to the go-to-market team, connect regional and global teams, and collaborate with ingredient development managers as the category subject-matter expert. Reports to the Manager, Applications & Innovation Ecosystem T&HS EMEA.
Responsibilities
• Own technical projects and capability-building work; drive medium-term application solution development.
• Spend approximately 30–50% of time in Ingredion’s iLTC laboratories and pilot plant (or externally) running trials and measurements.
• Co-own product launches and competitor benchmarking with Ingredient Development Managers, Category Marketing Leads and the global Applications team; create customer solution technical launch packs, food concepts and training, and incorporate early customer feedback.
• Develop technical expertise across existing and new bakery, snacks and confectionery portfolios. Lead solution-development work for partner and strategic accounts, including sensory and consumer insights and measurement science.
Qualifications
BSc or MSc in Food Science or Chemistry; 4–6 years’ experience in the bakery, snacks or confectionery ingredients industry; hands-on application experience; strong formulation knowledge and understanding of ingredient interactions; effective presentation and communication skills for cross-functional international teams.
