Are you passionate about building markets for sustainable innovation, forging strong partnerships, and turning bold ideas into real commercial traction? Do you thrive at the intersection of strategy, sales, and communication, and want to contribute to one of the most pressing challenges of our time: eliminating harmful plastic?
noriware is an innovative materials science company specializing in the development of advanced materials processing technologies. We are creating breakthrough algae-based alternatives for packaging and a variety of plastic products. By integrating biochemistry with existing machinery and infrastructure in the plastics industry, we set new standards for sustainable, mechanically functional packaging films. Our highly skilled team of scientists and industry experts continuously drive innovation to accelerate the transition to plastic-free solutions.
Your role
As our Sales & Business Development Manager, you will be a key driver of noriware’s commercial growth. You will be responsible for generating sales, building and maintaining strong partnerships across the value chain, and translating market needs into clear inputs for our R&D and product development teams. This is a full-time role where you would act as a bridge between customers, partners, and internal stakeholders, and help ensure that our solutions meet real market demand and scale successfully.
Your tasks
- Generate sales by actively developing and managing relationships with customers, resellers, packers, and retailers across relevant markets.
- Build, maintain, and expand strategic partnerships with distribution partners and industry stakeholders, from first contact to long-term collaboration.
- Identify, evaluate, and commercially validate new market applications for noriware’s materials.
- Support application development by conducting customer interviews to understand their needs, pain points, and adoption barriers. Bring this structured market and customer feedback to the R&D team to enhance our product.
- Represent noriware at trade fairs, industry events, conferences, and customer meetings, including preparing and delivering compelling presentations.
- Contribute to commercial strategy development, including go-to-market approaches, partnership models, and early revenue streams.
Additional responsibilities may include:
- Support PR, communications, and storytelling activities in collaboration with the team, helping position noriware as a credible and forward-thinking materials innovator.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Management, Marketing, or a related field.
- At least three years of experience in sales, business development, partnerships, or commercial roles, ideally in innovation-led environments.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust-based relationships across diverse stakeholders and cultures.
- Ability to understand technical specifications and properties of our materials, and translate them into clear, simple, and compelling market and customer value propositions.
- Strong ability to listen, synthesize qualitative insights, and translate them into structured feedback for technical and strategic decision-making.
- A hands-on, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to execute independently while collaborating closely with a multidisciplinary team.
- Confidence in presenting ideas, products, and visions to partners, customers, and public audiences.
- Willingness and ability to travel across the EU and beyond (to a smaller extent) as required to build partnerships and support commercial growth.
- Fluency in English is required; ability to speak Spanish, or French is a strong plus.
Beneficial
- Established network within the packaging or packing industry.
- Affinity for design and the ability to create and curate visual content, including social media posts and website updates.
