The role is based in Cedar Rapids, IA (onsite). IFF Health & Biosciences is looking for a detail-oriented quality intern who will provide laboratory support for a biotechnology manufacturing facility
Where You’ll Make a Difference
Providing analytical results to the operations teams
Prepare buffers, substrates, and medias for assays
Aliquot standards and controls
Help support in process and release testing for standard tests such as appearance, conductivity, pH, %DS, turbidity, color, etc.
Basic data analysis
Data entry and reporting of results
Support lab maintenance requirements – restocking of supplies, etc.
Practice proper lab hygiene and follow all safety, ISO, HACCP, GMP, Kosher, and Halal requirements.
What Makes You the Right Fit
Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in microbiology, biotechnology, chemistry, or related field.
High level of initiative
High attention to detail and ability to follow standard operating procedures exactly as written
Strong interpersonal / communication skills
Intermediate math skills and a basic understanding of statistics
Computer proficiency – Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook knowledge required, LIMS and SAP knowledge would be a plus but not required
Have the right to work in the U.S. without restriction
